This port was more accomodating to tourists. It had a warehouse-like location filled with shops, food and music. The port itself other than that one location was very ugly. It was quite industrial. There was not enough to do to be there for 8-10 hours. If I stopped there again I would take an excursion. I wish I went on the Banana Plantation excursion.

The port is an industrial area and you can walk back a ways to a flea market style building where we did buy a few things but the tours would be the only way to do stuff there are some bad areas that are not recommended.

We went to the Amatique Bay Resort. We were pleasantly surprised. The resort had a beach, big pool and, best of all, waterslides. My daughter went down those slides the entire day. The food wasn't great, but we had a great time.

There were 8 of us and we took a boat tour that went around the coast and up the Rio Dulce. We visited the town of Livingston. Along the way we expored a new cave just found and visited a natural hot spring. We were also able to visit a "Castille" and loved every minute of our tour. Karla was our guide and did a great job!!
