Did not feel safe at this port. There was a large area to buy souvenirs but they were all made in China - all of the booths had the same stuff. We walked halfway down the first street and turned around and went back to the ship.

We pre-booked a 3 part tour with Greenway Tours. They were very good, guiding us all the way through with a river boat ride - trying their best to get us up close to all the wildlife there. On to our favorite, a zip line through the rainforest canopy (in the rain... so bring a light poncho!) and ending with a drive to (but not inside, dues to laws protecting crops) a banana plantation. Our guide, Alberto (aka Beto) was great, giving us lots of information and demonstrating as much as possible. He even gave us free samples and they had fresh fruit for us at every stop. I’d go again in a heartbeat.

I really liked Limon. It was amazing to see sloths in real life. My wife fell in love with them and bought several things with a sloth picture on it. Much more relaxed vibe than Columbia. The people there were not nearly as aggressive and that made that port more enjoyable.

We took the Sloth tour on this port. The sloths sanctuary was the highlight of the trip and the guide was helpful in explaining all the info about her country. The canoe ride was pretty lame. Although we saw some of the Costa Rican jungle it was too short. Oddly, I would go back to visit more of Costa Rica.
