When I saw that we were pulling into Costa Rica I was excited about my 4 hour zipline and aero-tram excursion for this port. After we docked, we sat in the theater waiting for the ship to be cleared. Michael the ShortEx Team Leader is a funny guy, I love his 'accent'. He always says “Crikey!” He kept us entertained during the whole ordeal. I was supposed to meet my excursion at 830am. At around 10:30am we were cleared by the Port Authority and the Local Health Official. However, the Pier Manager and owner of the pier wouldn't allow the ship to disembark passengers. So after being docked in Costa Rica for 3 ½ hours, the Bliss sailed away to Panama at 11:30 am local time.

Good port. Tour was on bus for tram and zip lines. Took tram over forest to high up in hills and then 10 zip lines down. Wow this was amazing, even for us two 75 year olds.

We the NCL tour to visit the Sloth Sanctuary and it was so cool to see all the animals they have rescued and helped heal to release back to their natural habitat.

The only excursion we did on the trip was here and it was ziplining. The bus ride was about 30 minutes but they stopped at two spots so stretch it out. Our excursion was an hour late so they were stalling us because they said the group before us was still on the zip line. We stopped at a stretch of local fruit stands, then they took us to the bus depot/trinket mall. The trinket mall had bathrooms, coffee samples and a good selection of trinkets. From wood carvings to shirts, bowls, jewelry, apparel, it was the best one on the cruise. Again I just got postcards.

bad. this was yet another commercial port that you could not walk off the ship. you had to take a shuttle to a drop off point then do your trip to town. we did the Tarcoles River ecoCruise adventure which was not as described this should have been labelled as a birdwatching tour because that was all we did, they gave a pamphlet as to which bird we would see. we spent more time getting to excursion than what we spent on small boat. as for the tropical fruit buffet that was supposed to be included it was a banana and a piece of pineapple. this excursion was way over priced and badly described. we did not see any iguanas or Jesus Christ Lizards . there was not any time to wander around.we spent more time on bus that tour .
