had done the full transit before; stayed on board on my balcony for this partial transit out into Gatun Lake. The ship did a good job of having everyone get a chance to learn about the canal before we got there -- presentations, tv films about the canal, good handouts. Many people went on tours, but it was so misty and rainy, they were wet and miserable and it took all day long, not able to join the ship until 8 hours after leaving it. Long day.....

So glad we stayed on the ship as most people left for excursions. We had full roam of the ship and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the canal through 3 locks forth and back.

We did an excursion but saw very little of the cruise into the canal because we were stuck inside the theatre waiting to be sent to the coaches. Were waiting a long time.

Still amazing after 105 years. Unfortunately it rained during our tour. However, the Panama Viejo and the UNESCO site were intriguing.
