Nice port area if a little tatty but I took a tour to the Pacific and Atlantic ends of the Panama Canal which was outstanding.

The tour to the locks was great we had a great tour guide.Enjoyed seeing the ships go through the locks

Filthy scary place. Do not venture past the dock areas little tent shopping unless you have a big tough guy with you. Beggars and homeless people everywhere, the smell is terrible and be very aware of the park area unless you have several people with you. Called the "armpit" of the Panama Canal for a reason.

The city bus tour was good, albeit the rainy weather put a damper on most of the programmed activities. The tour guide was excellent.

Make sure you get the true Panama Canal experience. Being able to actually go through all three lock systems from the Atlantic to the Pacific, cannot be missed.

Ok, I'm biased because my husband's cousin lives in Panama City so he picked us up in a van, drove us around for a private tour and took us to his house for a great BBQ. But, I don't know what you would do if you didn't have Oswaldo to show you around!
