We only went to the bird/animal sanctuary at the port. It is free and really amazing. You could spend hours there admiring the animals and exhibits.

It was one of the better ones But way too many peddlers.

Just walked around at the area off the ship where there are peacocks, flamingos, lots of parrots and other animals

While we really, really enjoyed our tour and feel Cartagena is a beautiful city, the constant pestering of the peddlers was tiresome and took away from the city. We did the La Popa Monastery and Walking tour excursion through the ship. Tour guide was great and easy to understand. We went to the Monastery, a short stop at the fort and then to Old Cartagena. At the port, there is a huge aviary that is completely free. I had perma-grin going through there! So much fun and beautiful birds you can get very close to! We did not see any monkeys but others did! Unfortunately, because of the pushy peddlers, this is not somewhere we'd like to return to explore more.

Cartagena was pretty and interesting. Our tour guide seemed quite experienced and knowledgeable but I say “seem” because the sound system was horrible and that in combination with his accent made the tour very difficult to understand.

This shore excursions was not only boring but also expensive, just asimple city bus tour, you barely get off the bus. Regular big bus tour are only $20-$30, here Norwegian charge you $100-$200 per person.

Did a Hop On Hop off.. That was tricky and very busy.. Barely made it back in time. Too much time wasted waiting for a bus

Excursions were sub par, not just ours but athers that we talked to.

We enjoyed seeing much of the old walled portion of the city.

Interesting city but very dirty.
