Need to allow more time at this port to account for the traffic especially if it rains.

Went to the old walled city and saw churches the fort etc. the worst part was the vendors pushing their “wares” on us. Very aggressive the best part was the port had a kind of small zoo/aviary with lots of peacocks and macaws toucans and monkeys. Also there was an anteater and a Sloth. It was fantastic.

We were surprised to find the port has a wildlife area that was really well done. Sloth, parrots, monkeys, peacock. We walked around the Old City which was nice. The wall is only left in sections so you cannot walk the periphery. Take an Uber for $2 vs the organized walking tours or taxi for much more.

Cartagena is busy , colorful , crowded with alot of interesting history , architecture, shops, restaurants, street vendors. It was fun to walk the streets with a private tour guide through RCI .

Did a tour to an emerald "museum" and store. Kind of interesting, but didn't buy anything. The best was the Colombian coffee, which we did buy.

Did an excursion of the old and new which was a learning experience and quite enjoyable. The aviary to get back in the port was fantastic.

Eco park at pier is outstanding.

OK but we did not like the so many vendors attacking us to sell their stuff during one of the tours. It is really annoying.

Weather was hot, as expected. While there are a lot of vendors across the street, the shops are a wonderful thing to wander around in! We found some very good Colombian Emeralds on shore at a decent price, though not IGA certified. Grab some street food while you wander the town! The arepas are excellent.

Our time in port was too short to do much. Many of the excursions were cut short. We walked through the shopping area where all the tourists get funneled through.
