This port is great! If you are interested in exploring different cultures, this is the port for you. We took a river tubing tour. It was un-Belize-able! Ha. It was a great tour through caves on a small river. Everyone was very nice and you can learn about the Belize culture. The food after the tour was also amazing. Closer to the port area, you can experience a lot of shopping without being harassed. I'd definitely go back!

My family (4 yr old daughter / 8 yr old son) did cave tubing with VIV tours and it was amazing. On the drive out our guide entertained the kids with facts and information about Belize. Once there unlike other tours we didnt have to carry to tubes which I saw other tours groups doing. It was a good hike out to the start and if we had to carry our tubes I can't image I would have had such a good time. The hike through the jungle was really nice and then our tubes where waiting for us riverside. Our tube guide was great and made sure the kids had a good time and took a bunch of family photos for us. Definitely an adventure worth doing although the food at the site was not that good. But that wasn't the tour operators fault ... that is done by another company.

We went to Goffs Caye thru shoreexcursioneer which hooked us up with ecotoursbelize. We had an awesome time. We had a couple hours before our excursion started and shopped and looked around at port. Inside the port someone gave my son a price of $40 to twist his dreadlocks. We went right outside the gate and a lady named Ruth gave us a price of $25. We couldn't do it right away because by then it was time for our tour so we went back in to our meeting place. They gathered everyone up onto the boat. Gave safety information and off we went on our 30 minute boat ride to the island. Claudius was very informative on the boat ride there and answered every question he was asked. I didn't want to go on the snorkeling part of the excursion so Claudius left someone on the island to be our personal guide when we were ready. Markus was our guide and led us to an awesome beautiful reef. He kept us safe, pointed out so many things and even went down and got this brittle starfish that was climbing all over us. He was so informative and patient. He even took us out further than he was supposed to and had boats beeping at us! It was awesome! Then we went back and relaxed with free rum punch. We ate lunch when we got there which was ok. Just relaxing out there was amazing. The day was beautiful. Then it was time to load back up for the 30 minute boat ride back. We got back to port with plenty of time. We went outside the gate, found Ruth and she did my son's hair right there for $25. We bought some souvenirs right out there too for a good price. Inside the gate a lot of things said made in China. I bought a beautiful Wilks shell that they engraved with Belize on it and a wooden shot glass that they personalized then burnished right there in front of me. I would definitely go there again and I did feel safe. Our best time was in Belize.

We loved ziplining and cave tubing! We had two newbies worth us who had never done anything or been anywhere, so they were over the moon excited and it was fun watching them!

We went on the Altun Ha and River Wallace excursion, and it was wonderful! Our tour guide, Peter, was so knowledgeable and friendly. The river boat ride was great and we got to see wildlife like dolphins, manatees, monkeys and crocodiles. The Altun Ha Mayan ruins were incredibly impressive - I just wish we would have had more time there. Overall, a wonderful excursion!

This rating is likely bc by the end of our trip we were low on funds as this was the third port and had to book a cheap excursion. We went on a hike to see monkeys. It was really low key and not what we wanted and we were in a very poor area which did feel slightly unsafe but mainly just reminded us how very blessed we are to have A/C and indoor bathrooms with running water. Didn’t see very many monkeys but our guide was nice and I do remember one thing that stood out. He showed us a plant that local women pee on to find out whether they are pregnant or not. Don’t remember it’s name but curious to know if it’s legend or if it works. If you’re looking for cheap low key activity and are able to walk in the heat, this is relaxing.

We always charter a taxi and have the driver tell us about the places we see. Costs us about $50 for a few hours. It's still 3rd world but we were never concerned for our safety. GO SEE THE CITY
