Nice where the shops are when you first get off besides everyone in you face buy this buy that but when you go out the back to explore belize , its run down not very inviting people even telling you not to trust the drivers there because they will take your money and leave you stranded somewhere , they try to sell you drugs and some people was even taking videos and pictures of the tourist and following in cars . it was uncomfortable and just not what i had expected from belize

We did the Belizian food tour booked through Carnival. It was so good. We had a nice bus ride to what I assume was a Belizian restaurant in a neighbourhood and tried half a dozen local dishes. Then, we went to a local fruit and vegetable stand and tried local fruits. Last, we went to a restaurant near the beach, where we made our own Ceviche. It was a lot of fun! We also got a nice tour of the city. Our guide was very informative.

We did cave tubing and zip line excursion. It was a blast! It was about a 75 minute drive to Jaguar Paw park. Once there you do cave tubing or zip line based on lines. We did cave tubing first. It’s about a 30 minute hike to the opening of the cave. Enjoy it, because the cave is beautiful! Very refreshing to get away from the Belize heat. Zip line was next. You climb up about 230 feet then go through 5 different zip lines. The views are great! Afterwards, be sure to grab some tacos and nachos. They’re delicious! We got back to the boat with about 90 minutes before the last tender. Plenty of time to shop and grab a couple beers!

Star fish island was a disappointment the people on the snorkeling boat were good but the people on the island was rude. The food was way overpriced. It was like the people from the cruise were inconveniencing the workers would not recommend this.

Belize is what you make of it. Not much to see or do at the docks after being tendered there. Scuba diving on their barrier reef is amazing though. We were saddened to hear the the dive operation’s owner, we usually dive with, had died last year. Couldn’t dive this year, do to some medical issues, having to clear up. Other excursions to the Mayan ruins are beautiful!

Waste of time. I was on the tender boats to and from the port longer than I stayed at the port. Then the tender crew want you to tip them each way. Pretty sure my port fees paid for me to get to and from the boat. The shopping village is in a gated enclosure.
