Map of sanya was easily available at customer service counter in cruise terminal. Be prepare to produce a copy of your passport for processing by the authorities in order to access sanya. We had took more than 30min walk to the nearest town area. There were a number of shops, restaurants and a few shopping centres to explore there. The beach near sanya port was breathtaking near evening.

A created city showing what China can be. Modern, clean, friendly and utterly without charm. Buy your tea here as it's the best quality you will find on the trip.

Clean, neat and totally free of charm. Think Honolulu with Chinese town planning and Russian tourists. Avoid the tour to the pearl factory it is all about selling and minimal information.

Make sure you have the visa situation figured out. Norwegian is not on top of this.

If you get a Sanya By Yourself tour, be aware that you are dumped on the outskirts and noone spoke any English. Make sure you get a map and know where they are letting you off/picking you up.
