Here we saw plenty of neglected colonial buildings in the rural township of Ba Ria. We visited a Buddhist Temple and stopped at a local marketplace where prices were quite reasonable & bargaining is accepted. We continued on to another lovely Buddhist temple and then to a local 100-year old Vietnam house. We were served some fruit and a potent moonshine rice wine. made right there on the property. Stepping outside we were invited to try our hand at making rice paper. Then we visited a charming Coa Dai temple, a fusion of many different religions.

I think most of the calls on this cruise in very misleading!! Every port you've advertised is far away from the actual port the ship docked. We had to spend time & money in order to get to the port you've advertised and sometimes, there's not even enough time to do it, like HOI CHI MING City. It's 2-3 hours away each way! How do you expect us to get there back & forth and have enough time to actually enjoys the city within a 10 hrs limit when 5-6 hours is stuck on the road!!!!

We did a private excursion in this port - and another amazing day. We went to a local market, visited a temple, did a tour of Chinatown by cyclo, went to the War Remnants Museum (must see). The tour guide was terrific.
