We went to the free beach. The walk from where the bus drops you off can seem a bit sketchy but we seen cops everywhere. Got two lounge chairs, two regular chairs and an umbrella for $40. If it wasn’t for the CONSTANT pestering by the vendors, I’d go back. I understand they are just trying to make a living, but it was way over the top.

I love this port. Been here twice. Check out the Dzibilchaltun ruins. Its 40 mins from the pier. There was almost no one there when We went. You can climb most all of the buildings here. Our guide Kumen was great!!

Unless you have an excursion planned, stay on the ship. I have been 2 times and once did an excursion and the 2nd time I just walked around. There was nothing that grabbed my attention while walking around so I went back to the ship. The time I had an excursion I toured Mayan Ruins and loved it. Ruin tours are very informative.

First cruise! 5 day cruise to Cozumel and Progresso! We enjoyed our tour excursions in both places. We loved it and scheduled our second cruise not long after returning.

I would give this port 5 stars if we had more time here. We went to Chichén Itzá, it’s a 2 hour drive there and back so 4 hour round trip. It was worth it! We all loved seeing this place in person! The downside is there are lots of vendors trying to get your attention. I mean lots!! Hundreds of vendors everywhere! If you want to buy wait till the end almost everything is $1!

I love this port. There is such a relaxed environment when you go into the city. Great people and even better food. We make sure to visit this wonderful place every time we sail into Mexico.

The VIP Maya Ruins tour with cenote and lunch was incredible! Our tour guide Jorge was amazing and very knowledgeable. The ruins were so full of life and culture and at the end you had some time to buy handcrafted souvenirs, at the cenote the lunch was buffet style and very authentic. Finally the cenote was absolutely breathtaking! The water was the perfect temperature and it was an all around amazing trip soooo worth the price, highly recommend!

Went to Chichen Itza, which means you do not get to experience Progreso or even the Port Complex as it truly is an all-day activity. The ruins are impressive, the experience is not. Signage onsite is either non-existent or very aged. The grounds and pathways (EVERY pathway) are lined with vendor booths from start to end. Not like 10-20, there must be more than 100 booths lined end to end and all appeared to be selling the same machine-made items. Sure, I'd recommend people go to see it - The ball court is amazing; but, be prepared to walk away with a bitter taste of ancient Mayan history.

Except for the pyramids nothing worth getting off the ship for.

Wasn’t impressed with this port, wasn’t as clean as Cozumel. Not as much to do, but we booked excursion through carnival. It was the corona beach party. Super fun atmosphere! Great salsa and margaritas! Mamacita puts on a good show!!!! Bring small bills if u wanna buy trinkets. Kiddos walk around and sell bracelets and rosaries.
