The shuttle experience was fun the port is the longest in the world - The shops right near the pier are very nice . Once in town the locals are very very pushy and won’t back down you just have to keep moving away from them it was hard to look at the outdoor shopping with out being hassled. The beach’s were beautiful and the water in September was warm. Ended up not spending much more then 2 hrs in port due to how pushy everyone was .

This excursion was stressful . It took 2hrs to get to the Mayan ruins and plus we got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere . Our guide said he would have us back in time by 5:30 , but port call was 4:30 . I had to constantly remind him with the language barrier that we have to leave so we don't get left . We made it back just in time at 4:15. The Mayan ruins was interesting , but I don't think Progesso will be a returned spot for us....

We wanted to see the Mayan ruins while we were there but failed to sign up for the excursions on the boat. We were actually happy for that. We ended up getting an excursion for $15 each that would have cost $65 from Carnival. It was a 25 minute ride there and back and about 45 minutes at the ruins. Save your shopping for Cozumel.

Really surprised at Progreso it is obviously going through some improvements around the beach front area, we had very reasonably priced massages on the beach followed by some drinks at a local tavern
