There are lots of things to do, nice beaches to visit, zip lines, whale watching, sightseeing, and much more. You should also see stone island.

Agreed, there is a lot to do in Mazatlan. First, you need to get away from the port. It is a working port not a tourist attraction. Just across the harbor is Stone Island. Absolutely beautiful beach with many amenities, take an excursion or take a shuttle boat across to it. Plaza Machado is less than a mile, you can walk the blue line, many guides and volunteers to show you the way. From there you can go less than a half mile to the Best Western Freeman hotel with a roof top pool with restaurant and bar. Best views. Mazatlan has one of the longest Malecons. Just a few years ago they completely renewed the whole thing. Mazatlan also has Pulmonias, these are dune buggy type taxis. It is great to go site seeing in one of these. The Golden Zone is the tourist area. Great food and shopping. Highly recommend Pancho's on the beach. One of the best restaurants in town. Panama bakery is around the corner from them. Mazatlan is great, just have to get away from the port. Enjoy
