The port near the ship is quite industrial. We did an inexpensive excursion thru Mazatlan Van tours. The lunch and margaritas on the beach were fantastic. Mariachi group and a relaxed setting. This was 2 years ago and we are doing the same excursion in January '23. Probably not the best choice for young kids, but it was PG rated.

Unfortunately, not without a taxi ride. It’s more of an industrial shipping port than a picturesque cruise port.

We got an inexpensive ride on an atv car with a roof on it and he drove us all along the beach (waterfront walkway called the malecon) . It was perfect for us.
