Make sure you arrange an excursion. There is nothing right there in Calica. Take a bus to Cancun or Playa del Carmen. We did the Beach Break - included transport to and from Playa del Carmen and an open bar for 4 hours. The Mayan Ruins tour sounded like an interesting tour as well.

I LOVED Playa De Carmen. The city felt authenic, triving, and the food was great.

We rented a car and went to see the beautiful ruins. We saw the beautiful ocean, and the scenes and picture oportunities there were OUT OF THIS WORLD!

took a Cancun city tour with shopping. Bus had a none working bathroom that reeked horribly and took about 11/2 hour to get there. Not much touring more shopping at 2 areas for about 11/2 hours each.

Took a taxi to Playa Del Carmen. Shopped and received some excellent prices on Tequilla. We walked to Grande Walmart to purchase ship snacks, water and an additional suitcase. We ate at a restaurant (I can't remember the name) and had 2 for 1 drinks along with the best loaded nachos I have ever had! The beef was not ground beef but actual steak! YUM!!!

The ruins were great. The tour quides were great and seems concerned about our safety.
