Were planning to use the two days to see Haleakala and the road to Hana, but due to the ships tendering delays, we had to change our plans. We used a rental car to go to Haleakala the first afternoon and evening. The scenery from the volcano's summit is breathtaking, especially near sunset. Dress warmly, the temperature drops around 20 or more degrees Fahrenheit at the summit. The second day, we could not get off the ship early enough to do the road to Hana without worrying about getting back to the ship on time. We opted to go to the north side of the island and see the sea turtles which come onto the beach there to bask in the sun. After that we explored one of the numerous parks on the island.

Shopping Shopping Shopping. Remember this will be a tender port. so adjust for that. if the seas chopping exiting and entering the tenders will be an adventure for some but still being in my younger years i could step fine but they will have helpful crew for you and your groups!

Although I love Maui, I had to rate this down because it took us an hour and a half to get off the ship and into port. That was a big waste of a precious hour spent sitting in the dining room waiting to board the tender! This disembarkation really needs to be streamlined!

Best luau in the state, we heard, & deservedly so. Feast at Lele. We booked it online 3 months early & had front & center seating. The luau was awesome. The next morning we did the Atlantis Submarine excursion in which we booked thru Celebrity. We saw white tip sharks, blowfish, starfish, & enjoyed the voyage under the sea.
