Went to Kaanapahli Beach which is supposed to be one of the best beaches anywhere. After going not sure why other than the fact that there are a lot of places along the beach to eat or stay. Went back into Lahaina in the afternoon and did some shopping. This was the only stop where there were a lot of places to go near the ship.

We always rent a car which I do not recommend for everyone but we drove around the Island and up to the National Park. Lahaina is a nice spot. The two beaches we visited were lovely and the water warm. The Tender was most inconvenient. Lots of pushing and shouting. The crew was not in control. Even though we were siupposed to have priority, the staff was rude and told us to wait in line with the others.

Went snorkeling, though we didn't see many fish we did see a couple of inquisitive turtles, and some whales and dolphins while on the boat. The port area of Lahaina is crowded to the say the least, and the wait for the tender back to the ship was trying, though it was our fault for staying really later than we planned due to one of our planned excursions being unavailable.

Took the excursion to Haleakala crater, had the most informative driver/guide ever. This was a 6hrs round trip with delicious pasta buffet at Casanova restaurant on the return. The drive was in an air conditioned motor coach. Well worth it.
