Snorkeling was great here. We rented cars and went snorkeling at a state park near the Place of Refuge. I swam with some turtles.

Kahaluu Beach Park for seeing sea turtles! And Kona was a good spot to shop. There was a small outdoor market for gifts for the kids and many other shops.

Don't miss the Cities of Refuge. Even though the stop at this port is too short to see the summit at Mt. Mauna Kea, if you ever visit again, don't miss a night trip for a star-gazing tour,.

Don't rent a car, use the free shuttle to Turtle bay area if you want to go to beach. Rental car area is 8 miles, 30 min drive, be prepared to use 3 hours of your day to get and return rental car!!!! You tender at this port.
