The mauna loa macadamia nut factory was expensive and overrated. Rainbow falls was a trickle. The pier is a taxi drive away from most shopping, restaurants, etc.

took tour of island and walked on lava...state park was closed but we were not told until we met for the trip...ships excursion staff was suppose to advise us but it was still a good excursion.

Hilo is alright but you need to travel away fromn the city to see the better things the big Island has to offer

The Volcano National Park was fantastic. Loved the lava tube, steam vents and rainforest.

Helicopter trip over the volcano was great The city of Hilo is quaint and had some souvenier shops, not much else.

I really cannot rate this port very well. Not known for its abundant things to do, we docked on Sunday when what there was to do was all closed.
