Pride of America

7 Night Hawaii (Honolulu Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 18, 2009

Ship: Pride of America

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 14 years ago

Review summary

The ship was ordinary. The cruise, itself, aside from going to Hilo on a Sunday when museums were closed, was about as good as it could have been. We do lots of things during cruises, including gaming. It is one of those times when we do things that we ordinarily do not do. Though it could have been stated elsewhere and missed by us, it was not apparent until we received our cruise documents that there was no gaming on board.

Ports of call

Hilo, Hawaii

3 out of 5
I really cannot rate this port very well. Not known for its abundant things to do, we docked on Sunday when what there was to do was all closed.
Don't Miss: We had already been therebut Volanoes Park is a must.

Kahului, Maui

3 out of 5
Little town with not a whole lot to do. For a golfer, probably a great place to try the links.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

3 out of 5
We had already spent some time in Kona before the cruise, so we only did the Atlantis submarine when we visited.
Don't Miss: Driving aropund and seeing the stark landscape.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Grand Canyon and Waimea River cruise were nice. Facilities for the river cruise are a little worn, but made up for by the hosts.
Don't Miss: Grand Canyon.

Pros: Tasty food

Cons: Nickel and diming

Recommends Pride of America? No.
