Did the Furnas Valley excursion through the cruise line. Lots of variety and beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed the day. After we walked around the city centre and walked back to the ship.

Actually saw this port a year earlier. In 2019, I lucked out with Hurricane Lorenzo and missed Ponta Delgada, much to my chagrin. Even if the ship would have been able to dock, the weather would not have allowed for any tours to take place. The Captain made the right call with level headed thinking to continue at sea. People may have been disappointed but they certainly stayed safe thanks to the Captain!!

Beautiful island and enjoyed the visit. We did a private excursion around the Island that included a pineapple plantation and the Blue and Green Lakes. Experienced the four seasons in our four hours: bright sunshine, warm, driving rain, fog, cold wind, and back to bright, warm sunshine.

Loved this place, we were ready for land coming back the six day’s seemed a long time at sea. Enjoyed it that much had to dash back to the ship. Go to the markets if you visit

Ponta Delgada is a beautiful island!! While there I recommend renting a car and going to Crater Lake. The views are AMAZING!! People are friendly, and there is a lot to see and do.

We did a trip to see the Lakes, ended with wine and cheese tasting and walked around the town! Beautiful! I would love to have had another three hours here.
