The juxtaposition to Lanzarote is amazing. Lanzarote was barren and Las Palmas was very lush and green. We did the highlights tour which we could have done on our own. I'd love to go back in summer and enjoy some of the beaches. Be sure to try to Mojo sauce with potatoes. YUM

We booked the excursion for the volcano crater and wine route. It was lovely. Lots of walking but worth it. Wonderful and patient tour guide. Beautiful views and a great time. Highly recommend this excursion

At port we boarded the hop on hop off bus to get a feel for where we might want to spend some time here. One of the cruisers we dined with in the MDR says she always visits the Old Town when she's here. Sure enough that's where we ended up. We spent a couple of hours in the S.I. Cathedral, climbed the tower and enjoyed the museum there. Afterward we walked downhill toward the new town and enjoyed lunch at at Tasca la Picadita. Try the Tuna Tartar.....

Great beach to run along in the morning! We had a lunch at a very 'local' restaurant that was incredible! Also bought some souvenirs at a 'local' artisans shop. Great place to talk a long walk!
