Port was actually rather ugly. We hiked up and down the Top of the Rock. Signage was poor. We were never sure whether we actually got to the top or not. Watch out for the monkeys/apes. Many folks I spoke with preferred taking a taxi rather than the cable car due to the long lines for the cable car.

Take shuttle for 4 euro each way. It is worth it!

Cable car was out of use due to lightning but we took a cab (6 people) to see all the sights and get great insights into history.

Sunday so shops were closed but pleasant enough. Not sure about value of duty free as personally not keen on barter system, but duty free at port seemed good, and P & O prices seemed very comparable.

Very British port. If you want to see the apes take a taxi in high season. Don't bother with Dolphin trip you will almost certainly see them from the ship.

We were there on a Sunday so shops were closed, pubs and going up to the Apes was great.
