Nice place to visit, however the ship had to tender 30 mins. from the dock which took 2 hours for us to get on land and 2 hours to get back - way too few ship tenders. We went to Edinburgh castle and city highlights excursion which was nice. We also walked on our own to the Royal botanical garden which was beautiful.

This was a tender port but we didn't have any issues or delays. We traveled to the "Old Course" at St. Andrews to experience the home of golf without golfing. It is a quaint town with plenty of nice architecture, shops and restaurants. This also included a stop at Glamis Castle, which was very impressive and provided some great photos.

The tender experience at this port was a disaster, long waits, rough waters. That being said our excursion to St. Andrews and Glamis Castle was great.

To be docked at Newhaven Harbour is very inconvenient. It was almost 40 minutes each way on the tender. Due to the Tattoo and the Edinburgh Festival, it was impossible to get a taxi into the center. After waiting for an hour for a taxi, and not a single one arrive we took the bus 10 that was inexpensive, and it went right into the center. We bought an all day pass and that proved to be worth every cent.
