The abbey was quite the surprise. Walking back through the small town on our way to the ship was a delight, filled with unique shops.

Melk Abbey was very good; fun tour. Very austenatious for an abbey.

The Melk Abbey tour was fantastic, it's a pity we weren't allowed to take pictures to capture the beauty of the architecture and murals. Unfortunately all the shops were closed by the time our tour finished.

We highly recommend the optional excursion to Gottweig and Melk Abbeys. They were very interesting and the tour included lunch at the Gottweig Abbey which was excellent.
