This was our 4th Viking Cruise. We obviously think highly of them. The service and staff are a step above and the ships are beautiful. We were given voucher bonuses for rescheduling after our initial cruise was cancelled due to the pandemic. It was very generous of Viking to do that and it allowed us to take many optional excursions and fly business class. The port cities on this cruise are so beautiful and the Danube/Main/Rhine canal and locks are interesting to experience. We highly recommend this trip.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
As before the pandemic, cruising with Viking is an excellent experience. Although some of the meals were not quite as good as previous cruises, supplies were understandably difficult to come by.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Onboard activities on river cruises are fairly limited in scope but there were several. Of particular enjoyment was a glass blowing demonstration and a historian who spoke on the history and types of castles in Germany. There were also cooking demonstrations during the cruise as well as trivia games after dinner.

Veranda Suites are 2 separate rooms. Both the living and bedroom have a tv. There is room for 4 suitcases to be stored under the bed. There is a safe. There was more than enough storage for our items for 14 days. It never felt cramped. Our Room Steward, Zorica, kept our room immaculate and always greeted us with a smile. She also kept our fridge supplied with our favorite beverages.
Ship tip
If you book a Veranda or Explorer Suite, laundry is included. The laundry staff do a great job.
We loved Budapest. Our favorite excursions was a trip to the Communist Memorial park taken by private cars. The cars that you are taken in are Trabants, cars that were manufactured during the communist years. It was a lot of fun. Leaving Budapest at night is a beautiful sight.
We highly recommend the optional excursion to Gottweig and Melk Abbeys. They were very interesting and the tour included lunch at the Gottweig Abbey which was excellent.
Beautiful town. We recommend the optional boat tour on the Inn River. You are served snacks with a selection of Bavarian beers and enjoy the beautiful Inn River and views of Austria and Bavaria.
Regensburg is a lovely town. The included tour is good and we can also recommend the sausage making excursion. It was way more fun than we imagined and Roland, the sausage making instructor was wonderful. You end the sausage making eating the sausage, with pretzels and beer and an assortment of mustards. Very fun afternoon.
The Wurzburg Residence tour is lovely. Walking around the town at night was very enjoyable and there is a quaint coffee/tea shop with excellent coffee and decorated with teapot lamps.
Not one of our favorite included tours. It was Sunday and raining and we could only see the cathedral from outside because of mass. If the tour had been during the week or Sunday afternoon it would have been better.
Kinderdijk is a wonderful sight! We have taken the included tour, which was very good, and also the barge tour. I don't know that the barge tour covered much more than the walking tour. Both are very good.
We had an early flight and left the boat at 0430. Breakfast was delivered to us at 0400 and we had a private taxi to the airport. All our luggage was taken from the room and loaded onto taxi for us.
