Excursions were excellent!

Walked to the Basilica Notre Dame de la Guarde and used the bus to go back. The old port is beautiful and the MUCEM is architecturally impressive. A taxi from the ship to the city is better if you team up with another couple. There is a bus, but it is more challenging as there is a lot of walking.

Did an excursion to the popes palace. Very nice and informative. Felt rushed tho because we had to be back so early. 😔

The port really isn’t situated in a good spot to go off and do shopping

Marseille is a bit rough if you wander away from the harbour, there are a lot of north African beggers and pickpockets, beware, the little train to get up to the basilica is a tad expensive but an interesting way of getting up there, long wait if you don't book it on the ship as a tour, expect a few dirty looks when you jump the Q, the basilica is well worth a visit.

The ship tries to rip you off with a 17 dollar shuttle into the city! There are free shuttles, local buses and taxis for 2 that can beat all of that!

Kind of blah, hectic, older
