Cinque Terre is over rated. If you can take another tour to Florence, I will recommend that instead of Cinque Terre.

Just finished our cruise. This was one of my least favorite stops. We went to Florence. 2 hour bus ride there and back- warm, uncomfortable bus. We did the taste of Florence walking tour. It was too many people in the group, too crowded in Florence, and the audio too poor to hear anything. I think a private tour would have been better- quicker to and from the port and maybe give you time for a museum. As it was there wasn't much time for museums after the lackluster walking tour. We expected the crowds with the summer, just didn't realize how much it would encumber hearing our tour (even with ear buds!) and slow getting around.

After Marseille I was too achy to do the ship's excursion to Pisa so sent my OH alone. We were advised that the road trip part would probably be longer due to traffic so I decided against going after the long coach rise the day before. Alas Celebrity did not manage to resell my excursion ticket so I made a loss on that !! My OH finally got to see the Tower as last time the rain was so heavy we had decided to remain in shelter!

Great location to go anywhere. Again, because of previous visits, we chose Cinque Terre villages by train. Can’t go wrong with any options here.
