Get off the boat early and go to cable car up to toboggan ride to avoid queues after the ride share a cab back up to cable car for ride back down. When you get back down cable car the queues will be long.

Beautiful island! Be sure to ride the cable car up to Monte and walk through Monte Palace a tropical Garden. Take the tobaggan back down. What a hoot.

Only one word for Funchal......superb! Glorious town. Took the cable car to the top of the mountain and then the wicker basket toboggan ride back down. Exhilarating and scary at the same time and an absolute must!! Made the mistake of reading trip advisor reviews and opted to walk from the end of the toboggan run back into town. Big mistake!!! It’s extremely steep and very hard going on the back, hips and knees. I’m fit and still found it ridiculously difficult. Well worth paying the taxi fare instead.

Loved Madeira went on the cable car and toboggan ride excursion then the ronaldo museum. Beautiful place within walking distance of the port. Would reccommend.
