Review summary

We really enjoyed our first cruise experience. Very little to fault... can't wait to return.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation ran smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was excellent and plentiful in all restaurants... didn't feel the need for the speciality restaurants but will try next time for the experience. Cocktails were rather delicious too.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Very few activities on this ship (which we were fully aware of), the weather wasn't great so didn't use the pool. Hubby and son used the gym which they said was very good. We enjoyed the quiz times throughout the day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Fantastic... the entertainment team work very hard and produce excellent shows. We enjoyed all the bands and singers in each bar.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Nothing is too much trouble... all staff work extremely hard to make your stay a pleasurable one.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the size of this ship. She is an older lady and a little tired in some areas but we found her to be clean and tidy with a fantastic atmosphere.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We were told we wouldn't like an inside cabin but this wasn't a problem at all... didn't feel claustrophobic at all. I hadn't researched enough and we were a little shocked at the bunk bed formation! - totally my fault but after the initial shock it was absolutely fine (there were 3 of us n a 4 person - may have felt a bit cramped with 4 adults!). Our cabin steward Devis was lovely, kept us spotlessly clean and even left us towel animals. The cabin was a bit tired and could do with a spruce up but as we didn't spend much time in there it wasn't an issue.

Ports of call

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

3 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion... very commercial port, wouldn't do again.

Funchal, Madeira

5 out of 5
Loved Madeira, didn't do excursion but enjoyed the cable car and custard tarts at the Ritz!

Arrecife, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
We did an excursion to Fire Mountain which was excellent, not sure what the port was like as we were picked up from the ship.

Puerto Del Rosario, Fuerteventura

3 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion... very commercial port, wouldn't do again unless we booked an excursion.

Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands

4 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion... very commercial port, wouldn't do again unless we booked an excursion.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Sad... but ran smoothly.

This year was our first Cruise in May. We loved it. I agree Pluckiej that the way they put the towels into animals my partnet thought were amazing. She took a pic of it everyday. Well we couldn't fault the cabin at all. We don't think it's the decor that matters as long as you feel comfortable.
