We took and excursion in both Warnemunde and Rostock. Nice little seaside towns. Much closer than the alternative of Berlin--with 3 hour train trips each way and about 2-3 hours actually in the city.

Beautiful!!! Will return but not on a cruise. Our excursion to Berlin was a total waste. There was some chemical spill on the highway and traffic was backed up. Our 2 hour drive from the ship port to Berlin turned out to be a 4 hour bus drive to Berlin with one quick hour left to do the city highlights and back on the bus to ship port for a little over 2 hours. Could have done 2 days in Berlin.

Excellent choice of city on this cruise. Berlin is full of history. Excursion was well organized for the most part. Negatives were: 1) too many small stops were made, but no opportunity provided to visit a museum or attraction. 2) Train journey from Warnemunde to and from Berlin was poorly organized with many people including me not being able to find seating in their assigned compartment.

Hanseatic Rostock tour was great especially the trip to the brewery. Free beer!

We again paid $105 for an all day tour of Berlin from Guide Guru. We thoroughly enjoyed even though the bus was 3 hours one day. We had a guide from Yorkshire who was extremely competent.

Although it is a long ride (three hours one way) to Berlin. It's worthwhile. Our German hosts are very friendly and efficient. Got a chance to compare the former socialist and capitalist parts of the city and it is not hard to see why communism failed.

Unless you travel to Berlin, there isn't much to do at this port.

Did not try to go to Berlin- rented a car and drove to closer places instead - very fun!

The town's proximity to the port made it so easy to explore.
