Warnemunde is a beautiful seaside town that is definitely worth a stroll around, with it's little houses surrounded by roses, and the famous Teepot. Rostock is only a 25 minutes train journey away and is also worth a visit particularly to appreciate the Hanseatic architecture that is typical of this area.

Convenient to get train from port. There is a playground at the port while waiting for your embarkation time. On the other sode of the train station, bought a 14€pp buffet breakfast in one of the hotels with no vacancy.

Most people do the long journey to Berlin but since I've been, I did the somewhat pricey Friends of David tour of Rostock, Wismar, Schwerin. Book online in advance. Brewery lunch and Schwerin castle grounds were def highlights (delightful surprise). Was a nice excursion.

While most of the tours were into Berlin, the 6 hour round trip did not entice us. Instead, we chose to visit the Schwerin castle and we were not disappointed. This fairy tale castle was beautiful inside and out. There was so much to see...Each room was decorated differently. The landscaping was just a lovely. After a short talk into town, we were given free time to explore on our own.

We didn't stay in town, but took a train to Schwerin Castle. It was beautiful and we loved spending time there. It takes a little while to get to, but it was worth it for us.

I went on NCL’s Best of Berlin tour. I have to say this trip was very well organized and worth every penny. We got to see a ton of the main sites and the train (chartered no stops) was only about 2 hours. We also had a nice sit down lunch and time to shop at the end. Long day, but perfect.

We did our own excursion, taking the train from Warnemunde to Rostock (~30 minute ride). Very nice town with interesting churches and architecture.
