It was a pleasant surprise, the city is beautiful and has many green spaces. I think it can be easily explored on foot. .

Enjoyed Visby a lot, it has a lot of ruins you can go explore. Warning, the cruise ships dock 2. 5 km from the town so it is a bit of a walk. We rented a bicycle for $16 usd, which was cheaper than the hop on Hop Off Bus for $26 usd or a taxi. On the way back I stopped at Glassmagasinet for Gelato, that was very yummy.

Visby was a complete surprise. Perfectly preserved medieval town and walls, and we arrived right on the day of a medieval festival! I wish the ship would have left us there a few more hours. I definitely want to come back to do a bike tour of that island.

A surprising gem, as we hit it on Monday of Medieval Week. We also hit the museum just right for a free guided tour focused on the Vikings.

We did a bus excursion of the city and then we did a walking tour on our own of the old medieval UNESCO site. It was fascinating to see the medieval fortification walls and structures. The rebuilt medieval cathedral was the highlight. We stopped in one of the numerous restaurants for a delightful lunch prior to going back on ship.

We took a bus tour of the countryside around Visby and a walking tour of Visby. The tour included a visit to a farm for a tasting of some local cheese but didn't show any of the farm facilities for producing milk, cheese, ice cream, etc. The farm visit was a total waste of time and used up so much time driving that the visit to a fishing port consisted of a drive thru without stopping. By the time we returned to Visby, we had to cut short the walking tour of the city because so much time was wasted driving around the countryside without much benefit
