Worth taking the train into Sweden. Beautiful views especially if coming back at sunset. Need to check train times carefully if not on an excursion as there was only one train back in the afternoon.

Narvik is a working village known for its iron ore mining. There isn’t much fancy tourist stuff here but the people are very proud of their town. This is where we took a train to Sweden. That was a little disorganized but once we got to our destination it was a beautiful place. We went dogsledding. So much fun! The owner was very nice. She had made cakes and hot chocolate over a fire. They just didn’t have any restrooms. They needed a port a potty!

First time we had docked here and it appeared very industrial. We decided to just go for a walk and found our way up to the cable car - it was reasonably priced and the sunset was beautiful. We also did an excursion in the evening to find the northern lights but on this occasion failed.

Cloudy and snowy. Didn't see much on the included excursion. Not much shopping.

Narvik is a smaller town with not much to see but the tour guide was great and gave a lot of history.

A Norwegian town. Our tour took us around some residential areas then to the top of the mountain via a cable car in some pretty bad weather. The clouds did clear a little in the end. Can’t say we were bowled over. Billed as an overnight by P&O we departed at 00:30. An unexpected extra sea day and we sailed out of the Fjord’s in the dark. We’d departed Tromso at 01:00 so both Fjord cruises were in the darkness.

Saw the lights off the ship. Went to a Sami Camp. Interesting!
