Lovely place to visit. Railway trip was amazing. Best to buy tickets independently on the day as far more cheaper & availability there if bought early.

We didn’t go on tour, but still we loved it here. We enjoyed the little museum by the railway where I talked to a rather emotional old lady from our cruise whose father had worked on the railway. We walked up the paths behind the town with a view down to the ship and fjord. We sat by the bridge over the river. Returned to our huge floating restaurant for lunch, then down to the beach where my husband actually swam in the rather cold waters. It was all so beautiful, if only this large intruder hadn’t belted out music from its decks!

We did not do an excursion here though many others did and enjoyed the railway trip. There is not a lot to the town to visit though the beauty of the area is incredible.

Not a real town and not much to do around the port. We took a privately-booked excursion to Gudvangen (much nicer village) by boat - at one-third the price charged by HAL for the same experience!

Get free maps of hikes in Flam Valley; great views from popular Flam Railway round trip to Myrdal & back; don't miss exhibits in Railway Museum.

Flaam was very beautiful. Unfortunately the train excusion was fully booked, so we took a bus ride instead, which was excellent

Take the train to Myrdal for fantastic scenery. Hike the trails around Flaam to see some great countryside.

Absolutely gorgeous small village at east end of 112 mile fjord. Lots of short hiking trails up hills around town, so beautiful views. Sparkling setting amidst mountains reminds me of Lake Louise in Alberta.

Yup, do the train. Right side is probably better; some windows open or slide for good pix.
