The ship actually docks in Cobh, which is about 20-30 minutes from Cork. We did a Princess excursion "The Best of Cork" which included a visit to the Blarney Castle. The grounds of the Blarney are beautiful. On a beautiful day you could spend a couple of hours on the grounds. There is also a nearby place to shop called "Woolen Mills" with great souvenirs, not the cheap ones you find in every corner store. I could have definitely used more time for this excursion.

We visited Blarney Castle with a drive through Cork. The grounds of the castle were beautiful, but the line to kiss the Blaney Stone was 2 hours long. People had advised that it is really over rated. I'm glad we did this once but would not do it again. Frankly we loved Cobb and could have spent our entire time there. Beautiful, lively Irish village and the ship docks right there

We docked in Cobh and took the train to Cork... the people were wonderful! Visited the English Market, a little shopping and took in the sights. Upon our return to Cobh, we found it just charming and beautiful!
