From our approach the Amalfi coast looked beautiful. We had booked on the ‘easy amalfi’ excursion which we now wish we hadnt!! to say the loading of the ‘launch’ was shambolic, would be being kind! half the passengers had to sit inside on the lower deck, while we sat upstairs! the escorts/guides were worse than useless! One of them told the ‘upstairs’ passengers they had to sit downstairs inside on the way back! too many passengers, wrong boat! Amalfi itself was lovely, everything we had imagined. Next time we will take a local ferry to Amalfi!!

Wished we would have stopped here longer rather than spending two nights in Istanbul. the Amalfi coast is awesome and it would have been great to explore some of the towns along the coast. Pompeii was incredible and worth a few hours.

We took a tour to Pompei and Amalfi, when I go back I would be inclined to book a car and driver, just to go to Pompei and explore for the day, we only got to see a smidgen of it and the Amalfi coast is over-rated and sickening for even the most travelled, I don’t suffer travel sickness and was ready to hurl on arrival just from the drive on the edge

We did the Mount Vesuvius hike with a visit to the Pompeii ruins on a Royal Caribbean exclusion. The Mount Vesuvius summit has great views on a clear day. The only issue is that the excursion your guide only gave 1.5 hours to do the hike up look around for about 20 minutes then descend back down to the bus. I would have preferred more time to walk around the crater time. This is mainly because the cruise company forces the tour groups to stop at a local boutique before starting the tour which took time away the Vesuvius portion.
