Our excursion was poor but the views from the acropolis were amazing. They over booked the tour and felt very rushed and could barely hear the tour guide.

Started here. As mentioned before, the port officials were terrible and ripped up our tags without explanation. But Athens as a city is amazing and we found everybody very hospitable.

Stay around the historic areas and flea markets. Beyond these areas lies an enormous, bustling city. The hop on - hop off bus got us to the acropolis and agora. I would recommend this as an inexpensive way to explore.

Since it was 109 degrees F the day we were to go to Athens, we were very happy to have the option of a shore excursion that let us see the city by bus and visit the new Acropolis museum. The museum contains many of the treasures found at the Acropolis and gives an excellent view of the Parthenon. Guide was exptremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Did Acropolis tour. Very crowded; hard to appreciate with number of people on the mountain.
