We spent one day before the cruise started. Had a great time. Many things to do. Great food.

We took the train into Athens after a bus, and explored with the Hop ON/OFF bus. Worded out very well. Got the train in time, before for the ship sailing.

Incredible. We took a Princess excursion, as we normally do. Hiked to the top of the Acropolis— along with about 25,000 of our closest friends! 😀 A great experience. Had an authentic Greek lunch with local wine. Tour guide was VERY good!

Loved the walking tour of the Acropolis but don’t like Athens.

Always a beautiful port of call. Ship excursion was a driving tour of Athens and too short a time below the Acropolis. My daughter and friend jogged to the Acropolis, took quick fotos, then, ran back down in under 20 mins. Later, shopping at the Platka shopping area, enjoyed light lunch and could not shop because the time was too limited. Should have provided 2 more hours (so make the excursion 6 hours vice 4!!). Note: We wanted to go to Corinth but that excursion does not include Athens - too, too bad!!!).

In Athens, we booked a long, 10 hour shore excursion through the cruise line and we were sure glad we did. It's the only way we would have been able to see all of the main attractions from the temple of Poisedon to Acropolis, plus the lunch they served was one of the funniest memories we have!

Amazing port to do without paying an expensive excursion. Once we got off the ship we went straight to the taxi section and planned on just getting a ride to the Acropolis, taking a photo then back to the boat since I heard it was so dirty and gross... We completely lucked out with a driver named George and split the cab for the day with another couple looking for a cab ($130 US for all 4 of us) he took us all over the city and to his friends restaurants for lunch and a REAL Greek lunch (also cheap). I'll attach a photo of his in my album if anyone wants to look for this gem of a driver!

We did a shore excursion through n c l Called the best of Athens and scenic coast which I would highly recommend. It included a lunch at a Authentic Greek restaurant with delicious Greek food. The walk up the Acropolis to the Parthenon Was hot and crowded though worth the climb. The Parthenon was beautiful!

The port is fairly far from the city of Athens. We rode the metro to the Acropolis and toured on our own. So much history, and SO much walking!!!

Did the exclusive Athens excursion and it was horrible. We were looking forward to this port the most and it was very disappointing. The muesem hours had changed which threw everything else off. Demonstrations in the street or something that blocked the bus for over an hour. Everything else was rushed due to hour delay in the morning from the muesem hours changing. Just not a good excursion. Very disappointing.
