Full of graffiti, however go have got to see the main sites I suppose, We got hop on hop off for around 18 euros which was good value. If I went again would opt to go to Corrinth Canal.

Had a fabulous day today touring ruins in Athens. We took an excursion offered by Princess - Acropolis, Ancient Corinth and canal tour. We began by climbing to the top of the Acropolis to view the Parthenon, the temple dedicated to Athena, goddess of wisdom. The view was spectacular. It also overlooked Mars Hill where the apostle Paul first preached to the Athenians. We also went to ancient Corinth where the ruins of the temple of Apollos are. We then saw the very cool Corinth canal started by Nero and completed in 1893. Today, bungee jumpers were jumping over it! Such a fun day. Greece is beautiful!

We took a tour, "Full day in Athens and Corinth" with Private Greek Tours, Nikos Loukos. Our driver was Lambros and he was a very professional, knowledgeable and personable young man. He loaded the day with all of the main tourist areas were were interested in and was eager to please. Would highly recommend this company for a private affordable tour.

Athens- there are lots of hop-on hop-off buses waiting by port parking to take you to town. I did a tour with Piraeus Express Bus. The guide was great. View from the Acropolis is amazing. The walk up and down is very slippery because it's all marble. Best to get your Greece souvenirs in Athens because the prices are much higher in the islands.

Athens. We used Michael's Amazing Tours and had an amazing 8 hour tour. The history here is incredible and not to be missed. Our driver Sotos had all the tickets we needed ahead of time so we just entered each site without much of a wait. We went to the Acropolis museum, The Acropolis , Temple of Zeus, site of the Olympic stadium, changing of the guard , Ancient agora and many more places. We were at each place before the tour groups and had a day with not many lines. We had a traditional Greek meal at a local restaurant. Food was great and the gelato. Our driver Sotos even stopped so I could pick up a few souvenirs before we got back on the ship. Michael the owner met up with us twice that day which was a nice surprise. They took great care of us on this day. Sotos was knowledgeable and informed us about all the sights but he couldn’t accompany us through them. This was the best day.

We bought tickets for the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus. There are 2 circular routes that meet at the Acropolis. The first, which leaves from the ship dock, goes along the shoreline and then inland to the Acropolis, returning to the ship. The second route leaves from and returns to the Acropolis. While it takes you to many places, and you see a lot of the city, it might not be the best choice if you want to narrow your time to the antiquities. The bus was stuck in traffic many times. It became tedious after a while. That said, Athens is the capital and heart of Ancient Greece. Do some research as to how you want to see it. And you should see it. But brace yourself for a city that is overbuilt, crowded, not the cleanest, and in the running for the most graffiti.
