Too much to see in too little time. We were glad that we had spend a few days in Rome on a previous trip.

This was just for disembarkation and a bus ride to the airport - short of time - rush hour traffic and hectic. Not the best end to an otherwise great trip.

If time allows, try to get a couple days before or after you cruise to really explore but avoid weekends if you can as main sites are very busy those days.

If you plan on visiting the Vatican Museum, go early! It gets very crowded as the day goes on.

We started in Civitavecchia and had time to walk the city. Not a lot to do but a nice walk nonetheless. Had a day before the cruise started to take train to Rome
