We did Rome city sights and the tour guide was excellent she told us so much history and they took us to the Vatican a gave us time to walk around and take pictures but the lines are too long to go into Cathedral

No excursion, but we arrived in Rome 2 days before departure so we saw a lot before leaving.

We didn't really get to see Civitavecchia, but headed right for Rome and enjoyed a day there touring with another private company.

We spent a few days in Rome, and only briefly walked/rode through Civitavecchia to get on and off the boat.

A big beautiful city with tons of history. We had 2 days in Rome pre cruise and The first evening we had booked a Foodie tour which took us for pizza and gelato. Excellent tour of night time Rome all lit up. The following day we hired a private Guide For 7 hours Who Showed us the highlights of Rome And educated us on the history of this Special city. We ate at some great Restaurants And ate some great food. No problems with pick pockets, etc. Italians are very friendly people

This is where we got off the ship. No problem catching a shuttle to the end of the port and easy to see where we could pay 2 euro to catch a bus to the train station.

Fabulous stop went into Rome crammed as much in as possible the only thing that was a disappointment were the Spanish steps. We loved Rome and visited again for a long weekend

Not much to see at port, but closest to Rome. Rome was fabulous, which we did on our own, not via Viking. However we did do the included Rome tour once we got on the boat, and it was pretty good. Liked the ones we had booked ourselves better, though.

We had a great time exploring Civitavecchia. Try to catch the open market as it was lots of fun.
