Excellent. We got the tourist train into Rome and did our own thing.

Rome is lovely, but one day is not enough. Only managed to see the pantheon, and the Vatican. Missed out on the Trevi Fountain, and others

Part of our group took the train to Rome on their own for $14 each round trip on air conditionned first class. They planned ahead and participated in a blessing by the Pope. Some of us stayed near the ship and found an OK beach within walking distance.

Embarkation and debarkation. No excursions for us. No time to go exploring. It was easy and smooth checking in and getting off ship. Well run. :)..

Since we had been to Rome previously, we took the shuttle to Civitavecchia. We attended mass in a very old church & had lunch with the locals. The owner of the restaurant waited on us & treated us like family.

Rome is actually 1 1/2 hours away from this port. Having spent several days in Rome in the past, we decided to rent a car and drive to Orvieto. We enjoyed this town, and it was nice to have a little time away from the crowds.
