Hired a private driver from the port into Rome, we were a group of five, excellent driver who took us to the Vatican, piazza Navona, lunch at Campo di Fiore, Treve fountains, Colosseum & Spanish steps. Wonderful excursion and great day in Rome.

We flew into Rome where we started the cruise. When we returned, we spent an extra 3 days in Rome which I would highly recommend since you don't get to see the city before you get on the ship. Rome was amazing! We stayed at the Airport Hilton which has a free shuttle that goes back and forth into Rome several times a day. A BIG plus!

We flew into Rome from Boston and arranged with the Triano hotel in Civitavecchia to transfer there from the airport in a private van. It cost 110 Euro (about $125) for the two of us, but it was worth it. We stayed one night to ensure that we wouldn’t miss the boat. It was reasonably priced at 94 Euro ($110) including breakfast with cappuccinos. The location was fine as we were able to walk down to the beachfront and the pedestrian shopping area in about 15 minutes. They also offered a free shuttle to the cruise terminal so we signed up for the first one to arrive early and were the second and third people to board. It wasn’t fancy, but we’d recommend it for a pre-cruise stay.

Very beautiful scenery. Very crowded. Long ride from port into the city therefore traveling to and from took time. Other than that very interesting place and history

Our best tour of Rome our of 4 trips. Private car from Bestourofitaly. Air conditioning in new SUV. Very reasonable rates. Excellent English. He took us to see all our favorite piazzas, fountains, lunch at Gluten free restaurant. Could not ask for better!

Way too many people to enjoy much. Did get our bucket list filled with visiting the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, and a wonderful lunch.

We went on an excursion to the Vatican. It was a rainy day and the crowd seemed extremely large. I was happy to experience Rome however if another occasion was to present itself i would choose a summer cruise.

We loved Rome but it is a very expensive city to visit However it has some wonderful spots to visit which are unique to the cityThe Trevi fountain was one of my favourites

This is where we disembarked. We didn’t spend any time in port, except to catch the train. The 5 star rating is for Rome. Whatever you plans may be (either ending your cruise or continuing on for another 7 days) be sure to visit this spectacular city!
