Went on an excursion to Rome which was about 50 kilometers away from the port. Rome was breathtaking. I was in awe at all the ancient edifices, We also went to the Vatican and saw St. Peter's Square, Sistine Chapel, and the basilica.

We did the Discover Renaissance Rome. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. Our tour guide did an excellent job keeping up with everyone. We started the excursion late due to difficult weather and arrived about an hour late to port. Then we had several passengers that we waited for (which made us even later). The tour guide and driver did an excellent job navigating us through the city and giving us highlights of Rome. Our lunch stop was fantastic with plenty of venues to select. Our tour guide gave us several recommendations and we weren’t disappointed.

We stayed in Rome two days prior to boarding the ship we did a 6 hour tour with Viator with skip the line pass for Vatican and Colosseum. Skip the line is a must and I suggest staying a few days prior or after the cruise
