Long, expensive way from the airport. If you have time and an adventurous spirit, take a cab to the main train station "Termini", a train to Civitavecchia, and a long walk. Save a 100 bucks.

Went to Rome 3 days before the cruise left so we could really explore and visit! Beautiful city with history and ruins! Walked all over and saw so much! Need to go back and see more! Throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain so you will one day return to Rome!

Disappointing in terms of graffiti and trash on the streets. The trip to the Vatican however was a dream. Book it - if only to save the wait for tickets because the crowds are HUGE.

Absolute favorite, walking the streets of Rome with a street map in hand.
