OK, only gave this four stars, but an unbelievable beautiful place, negative standing in line to take the cable car to the top. Lots of shops and restaurants. No dock that I could see so all ships have to tender. 3 ships there on our day.

Just get off and go to the major city and walk around. Great small shops for shopping, then go to any of the numerous restaurants which overlook the ocean. Just so peaceful, beautiful and so unique how they just carved out these little niches of hotels. Defintiely would be wonderful to go and stay for a few days for a relaxing lazy vacation. Heard they had black sand beaches but didn't have enough time at the port to really enjoy them. Don't bother doing an excursion unless it's to the beach, just spend your time in the major city

One of our most favorite islands in Greece. The architecture is wonderful. It was a tender port but the local tender operators were incredibly quick. We knew that Oia was going to be a no-go because of traffic. So after a day at a beach, we spent some time in Thera before taking the winding donkey stairs back down to the pier.
