Our excursion started with a visit to Santor winery with an incredible view, wine tasting with snacks. Interesting to see the way they train the grape vines to grow in a little nest on the ground with the grapes inside to protect them from the wind. Then we got to travel to Fira & Oia. Beautiful. It was a strenuous walk at times, but well worth it. Such views and interesting things to learn. The family "churches" built in thanks to God were so pretty & you saw them everywhere on the Greek Islands we visited. Free time was great & the ride down to the boat on the vernacular was fun afterwards. Our guide was awesome!

Liked the port, Took the donkey ride up the mountain and the cable car down the mountain to avoid spending much time standing in line. Quick and easy. Very scenic views once on top of the mountain.

We rode the cable car up the mountain, and then explored the beautiful city. We had a wonderful day just walking around. Then we walked down the mountain on the path. It only took 20 -30 minutes to walk down, although it was slippery.

A picturesque port and area. Somewhat crowded. Did a bus excursion. Cable car to top was reasonably quick. HOWEVER, the wait for the return trip down had a very, very long line. About an hour wait. Either that or a donkey path down, complete with donkey doo. PU! Tip: Do your excursion as early as possible and take the cable car down right after.

Loved this stop, had to tender in and took the cable car up. Hired car and driver to give us a tour of the area, stopped in Oia walked around and took the lower road back. Had a great lunch in town and then walked the 588 steps down to the tenders.

One of our favorite ports. The city of Oia is spectacular. We took an excursion that included an hour bus ride to Oia, stayed in Oia for two hours, and then we were dropped off in Thira. We enjoyed it but would have preferred more time in Oia instead of the Thira markets.

Absolutely beautiful port. Wish we arrived in the early morning and departed in the late evening. Not enough time spent there. We did the ultimate Santorini tour, it was okay. I think knowing what I know now, I wouldn't take this expensive tour. We spent too much time at the prehistoric ruins.

This was our favorite! Don't wait in line for the cable car! Take the boat to Oia. They have a bus that will take you up to the town and then another bus will take you to Fira. It's only $15 Euros. But if you wait and try to catch the sunset, you will need to grab a taxi to get back to Fira and the cable car to the tender ship.

very pretty city, but over crowed. Line for cable car, very long and congested. Took over a hour in line before we got to the entrance.

Small port. We took the speedboat to Oia and that worked well for us. The speedboat company offers a free shuttle to Fira. At Fira, DO NOT climb up instead take the cable car. The walkway is slippery (even on a dry hot day) and you share your journey up & down with loads of horses and donkeys. The stench is really bad.
