We did the illias profitas tour and thought it was a great way to see some hot spots. We enjoyed it very much.

In Santorini, we’d done the usual tours so we booked the “SO65 Kaiki Ride and Volcano Hike”. After tendering to shore, a small wooden ship took us to a nearby island where we then trekked up some pretty steep trails to the top. It was strenuous as advertised but it was worth doing. This tour included a RT pass for the cable cars to Fira so we went up and took a public bus to Oia for about $4 each. It’s a bargain as we really enjoy seeing this amazingly picturesque town so we keep going there when we’re in this port.

If you want to take the cable car down to get back to the ship you must do it early before the crowds build. By 1pm the line was two hours long due to 5 cruise ships in port. This was in early Oct and. standing in the hot sun was grueling. The other option is to walk down the same path used by the donkeys (.which you can negotiate to ride). It is about a 15-20 min walk down widely spaced steps. Be prepared for some fancy footwork dodging donkey dung. Santorini is beautiful, but very touristy. The narrow steets are lined with tourist shops.

We took a tour from the ship to Santorini, we were told to look out for pickpockets on our tour. Loved seeing the blue domes, lovely boutique shops & cable car had fantastic views.

Prior to arriving, I was warned to avoid the donkeys. If traveling in to Santorini, use the gondola. Our excursion was a boat ride to the other side of the port and hiked Nea Kameni, an "active" volcano. Followed by a dip in the hot springs. Hot Springs, while beautiful, are not recommended unless you are a strong swimmer. You literally dive from the boat anchored in the Bay and swim to the springs through currents and ebbing tides. The scenery in all directions is breathtaking.

Beautiful place, would have liked it more if less crowdy. Did a excusion through Shore Excursions: Exclusive Santorini, Oia and Winery Tour, would recommend as much less pricy than excursion through cruise line but winery tour was disappointing...

Beautiful! However, too many people. Not sure how many ships were in Port. Weighted 1.5 hours in the hot sun to get on the cable car back to the ship.
